Pulmonary function testing (PFT) remains a cornerstone of cystic fibrosis care, yet its role continues to evolve in the era of highly effective modulator therapy. This lunch and learn session will explore “all things PFT,” with fellow Respiratory Therapists examining common challenges and emerging trends in clinical practice. Topics will include addressing PFT related anxiety and strategies for patient centered de-escalation, reconsidering airway clearance therapy (ACT) as lung function trends change post modulator, and whether clinicians are seeing an increase in patients newly diagnosed (or previously undiagnosed) with asthma. The session will also review current ATS standards, along with practical tips and techniques for obtaining high-quality PFTs across diverse patient populations. Attendees will leave with actionable insights to support thoughtful, individualized use of PFTs in CF care.
