SC01-- Managing GI & Liver Complications in CF: What Clinicians Need to Know

The session will provide an overview of gastrointestinal (GI) and liver disorders in the pediatric and adult CF population and include a multidisciplinary presentation with a gastroenterologist and dietitian regarding weight management in the age of highly effective modulator therapy. Specific areas of focus will include workup and management of abdominal pain; exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and pancreatitis; evaluation of abnormal liver function tests and CF-associated hepatobiliary involvement; and management of malnutrition and obesity. At the end of this short course, attendees will describe GI manifestations of CF and ways to manage them; apply CF hepatobiliary consensus recommendations; and apply a new nutritional paradigm for CF patients in the era of highly effective modulator therapy.
