Cassandra Riedy, PhD, LMFT

Inova Fairfax

Cassandra Riedy, PhD, LMFT, serves as the mental health therapist for the Inova Cystic Fibrosis Center as well as for Inova Thoracic Transplant Services.

Dr. Riedy earned a doctorate in mental health counseling from George Washington University in 2022. At the time, she served as an assistant professor at Belmont University where her teachings included trauma and polyvagal theory, crisis de-escalation, and the relationship between chronic illness and mental health. Her clinical experience includes supporting persons with severe and persistent mental illness, persons struggling with substance use disorders, and the perinatal population. She began supporting the Inova Cystic Fibrosis Center in 2023. There she provides weekly psychotherapy to cystic fibrosis patients as well as patients at various stages of their lung and/or heart transplant journey.
