Alexandra Pottorff MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the Unviersity of Texas Southwestern and its affiliate Children's Health in Dallas, TX and also serves as an Assistant Profressor of Health Economics, Systems and Policy in the Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health. She was a recipient of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Clinical Fellowship Education and Training Award for all 3 years of her pediatric gastroenetrology fellowship, during which she gained experience in the management of gastrointestinal manifestations of Cystic Fibrosis. She continues to care for people with Cystic Fibrosis in the pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Center at Dallas Children's Health. Dr. Pottorff is particularly interested in improving health disparities for people with Cystic Fibrosis and ensure equitable care for all individuals. She has become heavily engaged with research and quality improvement initiatives to improve Newborn Screening methods for Cystic Fibrosis in the state of Texas due to concerns of ongoing dispariteis and delays to diagnosis. Dr. Pottorff is also a Physician Scholar in the Child and Adolescent Population Health Program, a collaborative initiative between UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Peter O’Donnell Jr. School of Public Health focused on advancing child health equity through research, translational science, and community-engaged, evidence-based initiatives.
