Dr. Scully is a pediatric endocrinologist at Hasbro Children's/Rhode Island Hospital. He serves as Associate Director of the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Program, where he cares for both pediatric and adult patients within a multidisciplinary CF clinic. Dr. Scully’s clinical and research focus is on CF-related endocrinopathies, particularly cystic fibrosis–related diabetes (CFRD). He has been supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through the Harry Shwachman Clinical Investigator Award and the EnVision III Emerging Leaders in CF Endocrinology program. His current research includes a clinical trial examining the effect of a low glycemic load dietary intervention on dysglycemia in adults with CF-related dysglycemia, as well as studies investigating therapies to preserve and enhance beta cell function.
