Joanna is a Specialist Dietitian at the Oxford Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre, UK, with over 20 years of clinical experience in cystic fibrosis care across paediatric and adult services. She is also a researcher at the University of Oxford, where her work focuses on the evolving nutritional and metabolic challenges facing adults with CF in the era of highly effective modulator therapies.
She has published qualitative work in the Journal of Cystic Fibrosis exploring clinician perspectives on managing excess weight in people with CF and has contributed to several international consensus papers on emerging issues in CF nutrition. In 2025, she was awarded a prestigious NIHR Doctoral Clinical Academic Fellowship and is currently undertaking her PhD, leading the EASE-CF study, which is evaluating the feasibility of a dietitian-supported weight-management intervention for people with CF and excess weight.
Joanna is Chair of the European Cystic Fibrosis Nutrition Group and leads the Gastrointestinal/Nutrition Assembly within the Scientific Committee of the European Cystic Fibrosis Society. She also serves as the Allied Health Professional representative on the UK CF Registry Steering Committee and on the UK CF Trust Research Scientific Oversight Board.
