Raksha Jain, MD, MSc

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center

Raksha Jain, MD, MS, is a Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She completed her fellowship and a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at Washington University before joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2010. She currently serves as Medical Director of the CF, PCD, and NTM and Bronchiectasis Program. Dr. Jain’s research focuses on women’s health in bronchiectasis and other airway diseases, with an emphasis on understanding sex-based disparities through a translational lens, particularly the role of estrogen. This work has extended to pregnancy, where she co-leads MAYFLOWERS, a large multicenter prospective study of pregnancy in women with cystic fibrosis. She has received funding from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the NIH and is advancing women’s health research through the CFF Therapeutics Development Network supported SHARING (Sexual Health, Reproduction, and Gender Research) working group. In addition, Dr. Jain has made significant contributions to therapeutic development in CF. She has led numerous investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials and serves on the CFF Clinical Research Executive Committee and the CFF Registry Committee.
