Margret Z. Powell, MA, CCRC, is a clinical research coordinator at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a PhD Candidate in Psychology and Neuroscience at Baylor University. She earned her BS in Psychology, BA in Political Science, and a minor in Neuroscience from UNC, followed by post-baccalaureate research training at North Carolina State University.
She has worked at the UNC Cystic Fibrosis Center since 2017 and has served as the lead research coordinator for the Adult CF program, overseeing NIH-funded, FDA-sponsored, industry, and investigator-initiated clinical trials. In this role, she managed study operations, regulatory strategy and submissions, staff coordination, and day-to-day research administration. She currently works part-time in a remote capacity, focusing on regulatory oversight, and data management of the registry database.
Her doctoral research centers on quantitative methods and adolescent development, with a focus on measurement and disparities in developmental science. She aims to apply rigorous methodological approaches to better understand and reduce inequities in health outcomes.
