Suzanne Sheres, MMSc, RDN, LDN, CDCES, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Health Specialty Center in Wellington, Florida. She has dedicated her career to pediatric nutrition and diabetes care since 1982, working closely with children and their families navigating Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, cystic fibrosis–related diabetes (CFRD), failure to thrive, accelerated weight velocity, feeding difficulties, and food allergies.
Before joining Joe DiMaggio Children’s Health Specialty Center, Suzanne served as a Diabetes Educator and Clinical Dietitian at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia; Nemours Children’s Hospital; and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida. In addition to her pediatric work, she also supports the nutritional care of adults with cystic fibrosis followed by the cystic fibrosis team at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Health Specialty Center.
Suzanne earned her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Cornell University in 1981, completed her dietetic internship in 1982, and received her Master of Medical Science in Clinical Nutrition from Emory University in 1985.
She considers her clients and their families to be her greatest teachers and the driving force behind her continued involvement in professional and community organizations, including AADE, ADA, Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She believes that active engagement in these organizations is essential to advancing diabetes care, nutritional support, family resources, and ongoing research.
