Anthony J. Fischer, MD PhD

University of Iowa

Anthony Fischer MD PhD is a Clinical Associate Professor and Division Director for Pediatric Pulmonology at the University of Iowa. His research interests focus on cystic fibrosis in both animal models and in people affected by the disease. He has contributed to studies of mucus obstruction in the CF airway and intestines in the pig model of CF. In addition, his research examines the persistence and evoluation of Staphylococcus aureus airway infections in people with CF. Dr. Fischer also directs CF-related clinical research at the University of Iowa as part of the therapeutics development network.
