New York University
My name is Christine Mavaro, and I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of experience as a Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Coordinator. For the past 16 years, I have had the privilege of working at NYU, caring for both pediatric and adult patients with CF. This dual experience has allowed me to support patients and families across the entire lifespan, which is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.
Throughout my career, I’ve been deeply committed to advancing CF care, supporting colleagues, and contributing to national initiatives. I have served as a mentor in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Mentorship Program, helping guide and support novice CF coordinators as they grow in their roles. I am also actively involved in the Program Coordinator Leadership Program, where I continue to develop leadership skills and collaborate with peers across the country.
In addition, I have been a member of the CF Education Committee, working to enhance educational resources and programming for care teams. I also am part of the LEAPP-QI Team, where I contribute to quality improvement efforts aimed at improving outcomes and care delivery for people with CF.
Above all, I am passionate about patient-centered care, interdisciplinary teamwork, and continuous improvement. My goal is always to advocate for individuals with CF and support the teams who care for them.
