Sara Hendrix

Medical University of South Carolina

Sara Hendrix, MS, RDN, LD, is a Certified Advanced Cystic Fibrosis Dietitian at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. She has provided nutrition care for adult and pediatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings since 2014. Sara participates in ongoing quality improvement and research in cystic fibrosis, with publications in accredited journals and has presented at several national conferences. She served as a dietitian mentor through the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for several years; and is currently a faciliator for the RD mentoring program. She was awarded Care Team Superstar by the South Carolina CFF in 2021 and CF Shining Star at the 2025 Nutrition and Social Work Consortium. Sara has held numerous board positions for the South Carolina Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, including President in 2020. Sara graduated from the University of Arizona with her Bachelor’s in Dietetics and completed her Master’s in Nutrition and dietetic internship at the University of Georgia. She has been a dietitian since 2007, working as a critical care dietitian for the first part of her career.
