David Young, PharmD

University of Utah College of Pharmacy

Dr. David Young earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Idaho State University in 1995 and completed a Primary Care Specialty Residency at the Family Practice Residency of Idaho/Idaho State University in 1996. He is a Professor of Pharmacotherapy (Clinical) at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, where he teaches Doctor of Pharmacy students and serves as a clinical pharmacist at the Adult Cystic Fibrosis and Asthma Centers. He precepts APPE students and is active nationally with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), serving on the Clinical Research Committee, directing the Implementation of Outpatient Pharmacy Services, and co-directing the Pharmacist Mentorship Program. Dr. Young also teaches pharmacology to Master of Athletic Training students as an Adjunct Instructor in the College of Health. At the University of Utah, he is a member of the Academic Senate. He also serves on the Utah Pharmacy Association (UPhA) Board of Directors and co-chairs the Utah Society of Health System Pharmacists (USHP) Advocacy Committee.
