Nationwide Children's Hospital
Dr. Emily Stephan is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Advanced Patient Care Pharmacist at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree at The Raabe College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University. Throughout college and upon graduation she cared for patients at CVS Pharmacy but passion for patient care drove her to complete her PGY-1 Community Care Residency at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Following residency she served as both an Outpatient Staff Pharmacist at Nationwide Children's Hospital as well as a Managed Care Pharmacist for the United States' largest pediatric accountable care organization, Partners for Kids. In 2015 Emily and her technician, LaShae Bowe, worked with the Outpatient Pharmacy team and Nationwide Children's Hospital Adult and Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Centers to start Specialty Pharmacy Services for patients with CF. Currently Emily serves as the Pulmonary Outpatient Clinical Pharmacist and continues to work with the specialty pharmacy team that has expanded to thirty staff members and now provides service for over twenty disease states. Her favorite part of her job is getting to know patients and helping them overcome the barriers to managing their own health. Over the past 11 years Emily has been heavily involved in starting patients with CF on highly effective modulator therapy and adjusting those therapies to optimize benefits and reduce adverse effects. When she is not collaborating with patients or learners, Emily spends her time with her three sons and husband dancing in the living room, walking around town, gardening, and exploring the world.
