Silvia Maria del Rocio Delgado Villalta, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, at the University of Florida College of Medicine and Director of the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis Center. She is a board-certified pediatric pulmonologist with more than 15 years of experience caring for children with cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and other complex respiratory diseases.
Dr. Delgado leads multidisciplinary clinical programs focused on improving outcomes for children with chronic lung disease through evidence-based care, quality improvement, and clinical research. She serves as Pediatric Director for the Cystic Fibrosis Therapeutic Development Network at the University of Florida and is actively involved in national and international research focused on advancing therapies and improving the quality of life of people with cystic fibrosis. In addition to her clinical and research work, she is deeply committed to medical education, mentoring trainees, and promoting equitable access to specialized respiratory care. She is an invited speaker at national and international conferences and collaborates extensively with organizations dedicated to improving cystic fibrosis care throughout Latin America.
