Cystic Fibrosis Research Institute
Siri Vaeth is the Executive Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Research Institute (CFRI), a national organization which funds cystic fibrosis research in medical and academic institutions nationwide, provides educational and psychosocial support services, and advocates on behalf of the CF community. Her involvement with CFRI began in 1995, after her daughter’s diagnosis with cystic fibrosis; she joined the staff in 2013. Siri has a BA in Politics and a Master’s in Social Welfare. Prior to CFRI, Siri's career included serving as executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County, social worker with Migrant Head Start, and grant writer for health and human service organizations. During her tenure at CFRI, she has overseen the creation and expansion of inclusive resources and services to address the psychosocial impacts of CF upon those living with the disease as well as their loved ones. Siri is Chair of the American Thoracic Society’s Public Advisory Roundtable, and a member of the Council of ATS. She participates in numerous respiratory, CF and rare disease patient advocacy coalitions to advance access to quality care and therapies.
