Kimberly Canter, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Scientist and Pediatric Psychologist at Nemours Children's Hopital, Delaware. She received her doctorate in Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Kansas in 2015 and completed her residency and postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware. Dr. Canter began her work in Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in graduate school and she continues to work clinically with children with CF and their families. She has participated in funded research and quality improvement work through the CF Foundation and works with her CF team on various clinical and research initiatives related to psychosocial functioning and health. In addition to her work in CF, Dr. Canter conducts research focused on developing and implementing evidence-based psychosocial interventions to decrease traumatic medical stress and enhance coping skills for children with chronic illnesses and their families. This includes the development, implementation, and evaluation of digital health interventions. She has a particular interest in interventions focused on reducing pediatric health inequities. Dr. Canter is an author/co-author of more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles and serves as an editorial board member for The Journal of Pediatric Psychology and Clinical Practice in Pediatric Psychology.
