Stephanie A. Kraft, JD

Geisinger College of Health Sciences

Stephanie Kraft, JD is an Associate Professor of Bioethics in the Department of Bioethics and Decision Sciences at the Geisinger College of Health Sciences. She is a lawyer, bioethicist, and empirical social scientist with a research program focused on enhancing patient- and community-centered practices in clinical research - for example, informed consent and scientific data sharing. Her work on improving informed consent includes the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-funded ENVISION project, which aims to support people with CF in making research enrollment decisions that align with their personal values. Professor Kraft also has a longstanding interest in navigating the ethical, legal, and social implications of genetic testing and, increasingly, the integration of artificial intelligence into health technologies. Her work is currently funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.
